इस पूजा के महत्‍व

वैदिक मंत्रों द्वारा पितृ दोष शांति पूजा, पितृ दोष के निवारण हेतु सबसे उत्तम विधान है। पितृ दोष की शांति के लिए इससे संबंधित ग्रहों को उनके मंत्रों द्वारा शांत किया जाता है। पितृ दोष की शांति के लिए आप निम्नलिखित उपाय करके भी देख सकते हैं।

पीपल के पेड पर जल, पुष्प, दूध, गंगाजल, काला तिल चढ़ाकर अपने स्वर्गीय परिजनों को याद कर उनसे माफी और आशीर्वाद मांगना चाहिए।
पितृ पक्ष में ब्राह्मणों को भोजन और दान कराएं।
गीता का पाठ करना चाहिए।
रविवार के दिन गाय को गुड़ या गेंहू खिलाना चाहिए।
अमावस्या को एक ब्राह्मण को भोजन कराने व दक्षिणा वस्त्र भेंट करने से पितृ दोष कम होता है।
अमावस्या को कंडे की धूनी लगाकर उसमें खीर का भोग लगाकर दक्षिण दिशा में पितरों का आव्हान करने व उनसे अपने कर्मों के लिये क्षमायाचना करने से भी लाभ मिलता है।
सूर्योदय के समय सूर्य को निहारने, उससे शक्ति देने की प्रार्थना करने और गायत्री मंत्र का जाप करने से भी सूर्य मजबूत होता है।

ज्‍योतिषशास्‍त्र में पितृ दोष को सबसे बड़ा और खतरनाक दोष माना गया है। पितृदोष होने पर व्‍यक्ति के जीवन में जबर्दस्‍त परेशानियां आनी शुरू हो सकती हैं। जीवन में भारी उतार-चढ़ाव देखने को मिल सकते हैं। जिसकी कुंडली में यह दोष होता उसको कई तरह के मानसिक तनाव झेलने पड़ सकते हैं और कामों में सफलता नहीं मिलती है। पितृदोष के कारण व्‍यक्ति की तरक्‍की में भी बाधा आ सकती है और दांपत्‍य जीवन में तनाव आना शुरू हो सकता है।

यदि कुंडली का नौंवां घर खराब ग्रहों से ग्रसित हो तो यह पूर्वजों की अधूरी इच्‍छाओं का सूचक है। इसे पितृदोष कहा जाता है। अगरआपसे किसी सत्‍पुरूष, बाह्मण या कुलगुरु का अनादर हुआ है तो आप पितृ दोष से पीडित हो सकते हैं। गोहत्‍या और पितरों को जल अर्पित न करना भी इस दोष का मुख्‍य कारण है। नवम घर पर जब सूर्य और राहू की युति हो रही हो तो यह माना जाता है कि पितृ दोष योग बन रहा है ज्‍योतिषशास्‍त्र के अनुसार सूर्य तथा राहू जिस भी भाव में बैठते है, उस भाव के सभी फल नष्ट हो जाते है । पितृदोष सब दु:खों को एक साथ देने की क्षमता रखता है ।

पितृदोष से पीडित लोगों को पैसों की कमी रहती है। परिवार में लड़ाई-झगड़ा और क्‍लेश का माहौल रहता है। विवाह में देरी, संतान प्राप्‍ति में बाधा और पैसों में बरकत न होने जैसी समस्‍याएं भी झेलनी पड़ सकती हैं।

पितृ दोष के ये कारण भी हो सकते है। जैसे परिवार में अकाल मृ्त्यु हुई हों। पितरों का विधी विधान से श्राद्ध न किया गया हो, या धर्म कार्यो में पितरों को याद न किया हो हो, परिवार में धार्मिक क्रियाएं पूजा आदि सम्पन्न न होती हों, धर्म के विपरीत परिवार में आचरण हो रहा हो, परिवार के किसी सदस्य के द्वारा गौ हत्या, या फिर भ्रूण हत्या होने पर भी पितृ दोष व्यक्ति कि कुण्डली में प्रकट हो सकता है ।
