ब्रहस्पति के साथ राहू का संगम अच्छा संगम नहीं माना जाता है । कुंडली में राहू- ब्रहस्पति के मिलन को गुरु चांडाल दोष कहते है । जब देवगुरु बृहस्पति के साथ या दृष्टि संबंध बनाता हुआ राहु या केतु मौजूद हो। साढ़ेसाती, कालसर्प दोष, मंगल दोष आदि से भी बढ़कर गुरु चांडाल दोष जन्म लेता है । इस योग का मनुष्य पर बेहद नकारात्मक प्रभाव पड़ता है। उस व्यक्ति को जीवनभर परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ता है।

इस योग के प्रभाव को कम करने के लिए बड़े बुजुर्ग, माता-पिता, गुरुजनों और ब्राह्मणों का आदर-सम्मान करना चाहिए. गुरुवार के दिन भगवान श्रीहरि विष्णु की पूजा करने से भी यह दोष कम होता है.
